Prepare to Find Rest

We are thrilled you’ll be joining us for The Retreat at Church Creek! Who you are and the work you do are deeply important to us, your community, and the Kingdom. It’s a privilege to host you during this special retreat, and we can’t wait to see you there!

At Church Creek, we strive to help Christian leaders "LIVE WELL" and "FINISH STRONG". We’ve designed this retreat with three key goals in mind for your time with us:

Rest

We believe rest is essential for leaders, but it’s often neglected. While you’re with us, we want to offer you the freedom to rest however suits you best—whether that’s reading, napping, spending time alone with God, or simply enjoying moments of fun.

During our evening gatherings, we’ll explore the importance of rest—daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually. To help you experience deeper rest, we recommend minimizing responsibilities when you return home. If you usually preach, consider arranging for someone else to deliver the message that weekend. It’s hard to relax when a sermon is on your mind!

To assist with this, Pastor Greg Surratt has created a sermon you can share with your church after your return. This message will encourage your congregation while supporting you. You can access it here.

Recreation

Set on 66 beautiful waterfront acres in the peaceful Lowcountry surroundings of Church Creek, this retreat offers the perfect backdrop for recreation and renewal. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore the property, whether by casting a line in the water for a peaceful fishing session, enjoying a fun round of pickleball, or taking an electric bike for a scenic ride along the trails. These activities are designed to help you relax, refresh, and re-create yourself amidst the beauty of nature.

Connection

Connection is another essential aspect of living well. It’s our prayer that you will experience meaningful connection with fellow leaders while you’re here. Our shared evening meals will lead into conversations that help us get to know one another on a deeper level. We’ve found these moments to be a highlight of every retreat.

During the day, you’ll also have ample free time for informal connections and conversations. Together, by learning the value of rest, recreation, and connection, we will move closer to living well and finishing strong.
